Gail Bracegirdle
Watercolors: Still Life & Florals, Gardens, Buildings, Monoprints, Textures & Mixed Media
Bensalem, Pennsylvania

Gail Bracegirdle is a representational artist whose watercolors are filled with light and color. She prefers to work from life or from sketches made on location in order to observe and capture the effects of direct and reflected light and shadow on her subject. Her artistic goal is to share the impression of an experience, a mood, or even an occasional visual pun through the language of transparent watercolor.

Gail B (as her work is signed) studied textile design at Moore College of Art and had a career in that industry until 1990. Wanting to explore new challenges, she began to dedicate all her time and energy to painting in watercolor. In 1993, she added teaching to her list of accomplishments and finds this to be a “wonderfully enjoyable and rewarding experience”.

A faculty member of ARTWORKS in Trenton NJ, she also teaches classes in the New Hope, PA area.  Gail B has held summer workshops at the Ocean City (NJ) Arts Center and ‘plein air’ workshops in both Beaufort SC and Chimayó NM. She is a member of the ARTISTS’ GALLERY, an artists’ cooperative gallery, in Lambertville, NJ, and is also represented at Canal Frame-Crafts Gallery in Washington Crossing PA, The Frame Shop in Lambertville NJ, Hopewell Frame Shop in Hopewell NJ,  and Riverbank Arts in Stockton NJ.

A signature member of the Philadelphia Water Color Society, her paintings are actively exhibited in juried, group and solos shows throughout the region, have won awards, and are held in private collections in the United States, Europe and Australia. Her work was featured in Artists’ Magazine, July 1999 issue, “Give Your Art a New Wrinkle” and published in "Splash 6" (2000) and "Artists of the River Towns" by Doris Brandes (2002).
